Helpful Hints

To re-create the layouts as shown here, follow the helpful hints as outlined. For more detailed information on how to assemble the featured layouts, refer to our how-to book Imagine. Your Close To My Heart Consultant can offer more information on the featured scrapbooking techniques.

  • Use the rubber brayer to lightly apply Cocoa ink to some of the papers and My Stickease® artwork, creating an antique look. To achieve the light look, rub the inked rubber brayer on scrap paper until the desired lightness is achieved and then apply to layout pieces, as desired.
  • Using the rubber brayer, apply Sweet Leaf and Cocoa ink to the edges of some papers and photos as follows: Apply ink to the rubber brayer. Starting in the bottom right corner, curve the rubber brayer, forming an arc, as you move it toward the top right corner. Re-ink the brayer; turn the paper a quarter turn; repeat steps until all edges are inked.
  • Use the sponging technique to apply Cocoa ink to the edges of some papers, My Stickease, and photos, as desired.
  • Use the sandpaper distressing technique on some of the papers and photos, as desired.
  • Attach brads, Foundry™ frames, and ribbon, as desired.
